One of the more interesting items for developers in the HTML5 specification is the WebSocket API. It brings real two-way communication with a remote host to the browser. It enables a new type applications like Pusher and the apps built on top of it, in a standard way, without requiring Adobe Flash in modern browsers.

Chris Powers will demonstrate how to build a Chat application that make use of the WebSocket API. He will then demonstrate how to integrate the backend with Pusher and then with the asynchronous evented Web app framework Cramp
