Don’t miss the June meeting of Milwaukee Likemind. It’s on Friday, June 18. Jon Mueller, general manager at 800-CEO-READ, will discuss DIY: The Fine Line Between Building and Killing an Idea.
Here’s how Jon describes his presentation:
Technology provides many possibilities for people to launch an idea without the help of a company, publisher, financial backer, etc.. It also offers lots of distraction, an assumption of promise (if I use this, the result will be this), and a diminished true interaction between people. The good news is, all options are available, and when balanced wisely, the results can be beyond anything possible before.
Jon Mueller spent ten years running an independent record label. He is a consumate digital media professional. Although making music is never far from his daily life, his current “day job” is general manager at 800-CEO-READ, a company that connects business ideas with people who need them.
Jon has spent most of his life watching people, and the ways that they encounter and share ideas. Mueller says that in that time he has seen many success stories, and even more failures. “But the business cases that truly stand out to him are the ones where all forces came together to create something extraordinary: publishers, artists, marketers, and more.” He says that they, “Reveal that DIY is merely just another tool to be used in any idea launch.”
If the weather cooperates, we'll be meeting in our beautiful private courtyard!
